2010-the book list

Emily TuckerComment
So heres the update on what books I finished last year:

-Treasuring God in Our Traditions
-The First 90 Days of Marriage
-Sink Reflections
-The Teashop Girls
-Kitchen Confidential
-Miserly Moms
-The Girls From Ames
-The Carrie Diaries
-Start Your Family
-What to Expect Before You're Expecting
-Twenties Girl
-MacArthur Acts Bible Study
-Shopaholic and Baby
-Mini Shopaholic

14 books in total finished and who knows how many unfinished. I kinda have that problem where you start a book, take a break from it and not come back to it till a year later and you then have to re-read what you already read.

Already working on a list for this year... we shall see how that goes definitely will be less than previous years since our baby is due in July. But look for that list coming soon.

16 weeks

Emily TuckerComment
  • How far along; 16 weeks, 5 days! Really need to get back on track, sadly not likely this month cause its gonna be crazy busy at work for me.
  • Weighty Issues: Well its hard to calculate this because I lost weight(2 lbs.) in the 1st trimester due to my morning sickness but have since gained that back plus 2 more lbs so I feel like I'm on track with my weight gain, my bmi has always been normal so they say an average of about 25-35 lbs gained is okay
  • Stretch Marks: Not yet! still rubbin' myself with cocoa butter, my mom didn't get stretch marks so I probably won't yay
  • Sleep: is better this week, thankfully cause I've needed it. I feel bad that I keep passing out early on the hubs tho.
  • Best Moment this week: Feeling baby's little flutters :) and started working on baby registry
  • Food Commentary: Tired of the things I loved in 1st trimester: done w/ potstickers and dare I say boneless chicken wings are on the fence. Loving berries, oatmeal, waffles, and the bomb food we had at our church super bowl party yesterday.
  • Maternity Clothes: Wearing a combo of clothes still, some pre-prego jeans may be on the way out though the hair tie holding them up not cutting it that well. I bought a bunch of random maternity clothes last spring/summer on sale at target and with the nice weather I've been able to add those into the mix. Sale going on at Old Navy on maternity stuff right now, which I really need to check out.
  • Belly Button In or Out: Still in but stretched out. I've also noticed my belly getting harder!
  • What I miss: goat cheese mmm... was really tempted to get the goat cheese pizza at boudins but didn't feel like asking if the cheese is pasteurized. fyi: pregos can only eat soft cheeses that are pasteurized.
  • What I'm looking forward to: my next ultrasound
  • Weekly Wisdom: Just take things in small increments
  • Weekly WTF: really frustrated with the amount of work I have to do at home and not get paid for... i.e. der and maps suck right now
  • Nesting: um sale items are bad, must stop buying things but theres this fear deep down inside that baby won't have anything
  • Milestones: I can not believe I'm four months pregnant and almost half way done

14 weeks & 15 weeks

Emily TuckerComment

  • How far along; 15 weeks
  • Weighty Issues: gained back 1 lb so far, need to gain a couple more before I feel I can workout again but from now on I should gain almost a pound a week anyways
  • Stretch Marks: None that I have noticed
  • Sleep: Some nights suck, I wake up a lot. Considering I used to maybe wake up one time, once a week its a drastic difference
  • Best Moment this week: not being nauseous
  • Food Commentary: lots of cravings for fruit and salty things, also a lot of my normal faves sound odd to me, like popcorn is now not as tasty
  • Maternity Clothes: wearing a mix of clothes still since a lot of my shirts are longer already, wearing pre-prego jeans un-buttoned
  • Belly Button In or Out: more stretched
  • What I miss: not much other than my Bible study group
  • What I'm looking forward to: Everything, I'm ready to buy the crib and bedding and pick out names
  • Weekly Wisdom: Sleep more, which I fully achieved yesterday with the longest nap ever
  • Weekly WTF:
  • Nesting: um its really hard not to shop at work, only buying unisex things isn't that fun either
  • Milestones: definitely showing now

13 weeks

Emily TuckerComment
  • How far along: 13 weeks, 2nd Trimester
  • Weighty Issues: I haven't weighed myself in about a week but I gained back about a pound that I had lost from morning sickness
  • Stretch Marks: None that I can see yet but I'm pretty diligent about slathering myself with cocoa butter
  • Sleep: Some days its hard for me sleep, mainly due to general uncomfort and my laziness to get up to pee. Interestingly I used to only need between 6-7 hrs of sleep but now I really need around 8 hours
  • Best Moment this week: My hubs being such a champ at fulfilling my cravings
  • Food Commentary: Morning sickness is basically gone now! Lots of different cravings that don't seem to go away until they are fulfilled
  • Maternity Clothes: I've been wearing a mix of maternity and regular shirts. Mostly only maternity pants and some regular jeans unbuttoned, skinny and straight styles haven't been worn in months now :(
  • Belly Button In or Out: Still in, but mine is kinda a inny/outey so it does seem to have stretched a bit
  • What I miss: Actually liking Chipotle, since prego it tastes weird to me. Also missing salami and blue cheese two items pre-prego I ate almost weekly are on the do not eat list. Straight jeans...
  • What I'm looking forward to: Finding out the sex of the baby and continuing to get bigger cause right now I kinda just look fat. To finally be able to work out now that I'm not sick all the time
  • Weekly Wisdom: I must work out!
  • Weekly WTH:  My ears are sooo stuffed up I can barely hear!!
  • Nesting: Organizing and chucking stuff we don't need. Set up baby's co-sleeper only so I would have a spot for all baby things to be located
  • Milestones: Baby is the size of a peach! Vocal chords and bones are forming. Baby can now suck its thumb.

12 weeks

Emily TuckerComment

Today I am 12 weeks and I wanted to start doing a weekly survey on my progress. Some doctors say 12 weeks is the end of the 1st trimester and some say 13 weeks, I'm gonna go with 12 because I feel different now.

Baby at 12 weeks
Baby is now the size of a plum!
The baby is shifting into the growth and maturation stage. After weeks in the critical development stage, almost all of his systems are fully formed.

*What week are you in?

12 weeks, 28 more to go!

*Have you had an ultrasound?

at 9 weeks, to determine my due date

*Do you know the gender of your baby? If so, what?

nope, not yet

*Do you have a name picked out? What?

we have a few ideas for boy and girl names

*Is the child being named after someone?

baby boy's middle name will be Lee just like Patricks and his dads; baby girl's middle name will be Marie like mine and my moms.

*Who is going to be with you during delivery?

My husband and mom

*Natural or medicated childbirth?

Going to attempt fully natural. I figure since my mom did it I can. Plus I want to connect better with my child, lots of drugs such as pitocin can alter the euphoria you get from birth.

*How are you feeling right about now?

Sooooo much better, weeks 6-10 were rough but just more annoying really. I had morning sickness about 1-2 times a week but what they don't tell you is that you have to eat all the time to try to help it and I couldn't really eat anything healthy, things fried  for some reason went down much easier. One of the things that made me feel better about morning sickness, is that it is a sign that your pregnancy is going normally for the most part and that having that symptom actually lowers the chance of miscarriage.

*What was the first thing you bought for baby?

little booties

*Do you feel you are ready to have a baby?

Definitely, I feel like I have been preparing for this my whole life. Obviously it will be a drastic change to our lives but were such go with the flow homebodies I don't think too much will change in our routine.. except sleep :( something precious to Patrick and I.

*Are you excited or scared about delivery?

Both!  Mostly excited! Our hospital has some of the lowest c-section rates in northern california and most babies are delivered by midwives :)

*Any food cravings?

steak, fries, popcorn, cheetos, berries, potstickers, pineapple

*Anything you loved before that you absolutely cannot eat anymore?

smoothies and salad I could not eat for a while but probably fine now

I'm bad at secrets

Emily TuckerComment

You may have noticed that I haven't posted in two months, again...

Well this time there was a good reason.. because I can't keep my secrets very well I refrained from writing about anything but especially this.

We are having a baby!

Since we announced it at church today, I figured it was safe to announce on here since I know it will get around anyways.
