So my first new bit of content will be highlighting some of the new or old favorite songs that hit the top of my playlist. Expect to see my picks on Tuesdays almost every week and sometimes an extended playlist with a theme. Yeah I am that person that likes to create playlists for every event or mood.

  • Jason Derulo - Want To Want Me
  • Hilary Duff - Night Like This
  • Luke Bryan - Strip It Down
  • Walk The Moon - Shut Up & Dance

Life update

Emily TuckerComment

I stopped writing completely a few months ago.. Somewhere between having two adorable kids 3 & under, moving, birthdays and going back to work I stopped and now I want it back as a regular part of life. I believe that through writing honestly we learn about ourselves and can help grow to be better people.

I know I'm not the greatest writer but I'm a great reader and the words of so many writers have changed me and how I think about life, love and everything in between. I want their wisdom & influence in me to show and share that with others now.

Reflecting on My Style

Emily TuckerComment

With moving to our new place in the next week I have been thinking a lot about design and my style. So it was a great fit when One Kings Lane emailed me with their Reflect Your Style project, centering on their beautiful mirror collection right now. I love getting their emails because they always have a mix of everything home but lots of different styles. My personal fave is when they have a shop open of things from France cause I always want to be back there.

I love keeping a relaxed vibe to our home but mixing in unique pieces & textures that are easy to clean. I might also be obsessed with prints, especially IKAT. Just don't ask how many striped shirts I own cause that robe fits in nicely with my clan of striped & patterned clothing. With more space in our bedroom without Zach's crib in it I might actually have room for a vanity area, I can dream at least.

Products used: Mirror (similar style), Desk, Stool, 3 Dispensers, & Robe

The past few months have been simply amazing, even with the trials we've faced recently...

  • We are moving to a bigger place, which is amazing but they keep changing the move in date...

  • Zach is now 1! Waiting to have his party till after we move. He is such a sweet little boy with lots of hair. He's had 4 haircuts already!

  • Hayden is silly, thoughtful and definitely going through a growth spurt, which seems to make her really grumpy & emotional sometimes.

  • I turned 27! Started off my birthday weekend with a car accident but finished with great times with my family. I know its not normal but I love getting older.

  • I hosted a bridal shower for my best friend Hannah and it went well & was special to me and with all that is going on right now that was all I could ask for. My mom helped host and she was so happy to do that because she loves Hannah and knows how important she is to me & our family.

  • I'm slowly working on my fitness & health and am seeing really great results and even better I'm feeling so much better with way more energy. Next month is gonna be big since I will be doing a joint PiYo challenge group with Michelle.

  • Still slowly working on changing the blog to something fresher. It is desperately needed and why I haven't been writing as much.

Ramblings of a Mom of 2

Emily TuckerComment

long time no blog, my mind is overwhelmed with hot weather...

Sometimes naptime includes momma... especially with this terrible humid hotness lately.

Where is fall??

I end up with a lot of pictures like this on my phone.

She is so funny & I'm beginning to hear "Whats this & Whats that" all day long and strangely I love those little questions.

She is not liking the weather either and takes it out on me. Oh well lol.

I really like food -

Paul Martin Grill

go there now

He is super sweet 70% of the time and the other 30% he is teething.

Poor guy has a streaming river out of his mouth, soaked drooly wet onesies for days.

Plus the saddest tears when I put him down.

He may be a more needy baby than Hayden was but I don't care cause his smile & dimples wreck me every time .

My friend

Kim's

3rd Annual Mug Swap happened this past week, I have participated every year. I love everything about it, the joy in finding and deciding on a mug and bits for someone else and then knowing one for you can come at any moment. It's a whole lot of fun! My mug came from another Emily, Emily Hope of

Hope Ink

to be exact. I've been loving the mug she customized and of course she sent some of her inspiring artwork along too. Which is happily placed next to my washi tape storage.

I was assigned to get a mug for

Kate

of Songs Kate Sang, she stated her preferred style was

simply relaxed & romantic

. With that direction I opted for a simple feather mug with gold detail from Target's Threshold line. I threw in one of my handmade crocheted coasters, two summer teas from David's tea & some fun little bits including her name on Dymo tape. Always fun to pack up all the stuff and I'm so glad Kate liked it!
